Home now distinguishes an in-progress catalogue lookup, a read failure, a genuinely empty collection, no cards visible in the active language, and a ready preview. A read failure offers Retry and never deletes holdings.

This follows Spleen requests S6-H-01 and S6-D-02 in the bilingual Nihaw/Spleen register. It does not solve a cold API rate limit or provide missing Japanese translations. Device testing remains outstanding.
